Kaleidoscope Of Life ~ God Lights The Way ~
It is so amazingly quizzical as we look ahead staring into the kaleidoscope of life. If we look at life as if we were inside one of these magical cylindrical objects, we would see so many hues and colors, broken pieces that at first glance appear somewhat shattered and confused. It is true, that at times life does present itself in broken pieces and confusion can take hold. We try desperately to understand or process some of the happenings around us or directly to ourselves and/or the ones we love. It is nearly impossible unless living in a vacuum to not see the struggles, loss, challenges and trials beyond our imagination. We see difficult suffering and or pain both in our own tiny corners of existence and also in the many countries and culturally diverse lands across our world. It is also true that simultaneously to these forces of great stress and need of fortitude are some of the most precious moments in life. A child being born, young people starting new chapters in life, young love as it intertwines and prepares for more scenes and imagery yet to be developed.
In times of challenges and trials or the beautiful and joyful moments, we are so privileged to be the clay in the Potter’s hands. He is gently molding and creating while at the same time holding us in His most capable arms. In this kaleidoscope of life, He supplies the light at the other end allowing us to see the infinite beauty of this life’s plan. He has all of us coming together in a visual wonderland, where His light is the only guide that we truly have to find our way. He is ever so gently turning the kaleidoscope so that when our picture seems out of sorts or to familiar, He allows changes. Some of these changes bring bright beautiful images quickly and without hesitation. In these cases we immediately see the new bursts of color and excitement to the evolving picture He is creating in our lives, and we are joyful and fervent participants. Sadly when the glass seems so shattered and disjointed, we have greater difficulty seeing the end result of the next slide in this kaleidoscope of life. We often get distracted or at times lost in the steps that it takes to slowly turn the barrel to get just the right visual He wants for us to see. There are times in this slow turning process where we become weary or a tad lost and often impatient for the outcome He wishes for us. If we hold fast to His promises and patiently wait. Then as He twists the meaningful colors and beads of life together, we can be in a complete state of grace and acceptance. We are all in different stages of our journey and our personal walk with Christ our Lord and Savior. We are busy to align ourselves with the right Christians, The right religious practice and the right, well, no matter what, as long as it is not considered by many as the wrong thing to do. Why do we care so vehemently about others, whoever they are? Why do we not solely care about God and what He thinks? Why do we forget that He is ever present, He knows and sees, EVERYTHING! Why do we care more about what these so called OTHERS think, rather than what GOD our Father is witnessing as we play these ridiculous games in life. I do not mean to sound judgmental or condemning, I am only stating the fact of my own example. I in the flesh fall so easily into the worldly concern of what others think or say or feel about me. I become guarded in my presentation although I am embarrassed at my timely demonstration of hypocritical behavior. When I am not focused and in tune with my own walk in the Christ likeness I committed my life to. I am then not the teacher but rather the student. We are all at times asked to take a step back and be the student once again. God places obstacles in our kaleidoscope just so that we must look a bit harder to see His light shine through. In these times we seek Him more readily without reminder or assignment. When we know all there is to know, or so we think, we get a bit lazy. We forget that even though a wheel has been invented we can always add a hubcap or shine it up and make it brighter. As with anything worth learning, we should give at least this much attention to the Word Of God. He is so pleased when we continually go to His teachings and use them in our daily walks. It is difficult to use information to its fullest if we have not recently looked at it. I know this, as with anything, if you do not use it, you lose it. Some may become fluent in a language after years of practicing they can even hold a conversation. We encourage this learning process with languages and yet we limit our time with God. In fact after many years in His Book, I feel I am just now able to even attempt conversations. I want to be better at my understanding of His teachings and therefore I encourage all of us to remain hungry for His Word. I for the most part am a faithful and honoring servant of God. I do however admit my imperfections’ and sad denial of the word at times unknowingly, until He brings it to my attention. I am so saddened as I see young people reaching out in social media to attack one another as opposed to building each other up. I am so saddened that I see quote, “Christians” on Sunday or while in the presence of other Christians and then we tend to throw all that we know away out of fear of, well I am not sure of what, perhaps acceptance perhaps loneliness, or maybe even as a guarding to not be a target for such attacks ourselves.
I find us particularly silly as we play the game of I am a good walking Christian, or I am devout Christian honoring the Lord. I am not claiming you or we are not those things, just that this is not all that we are. We are collectively works in progress or else we would have full clarity and understanding. Nothing in this kaleidoscope could confuse or curtail the imagery God has for us if we are open to HIM. We claim to trust, have faith and put our Hope in Him but readily we fall victim to the blast of glass shattering toward us in this life. We must continue to look ahead and allow His light to shine from the other side so that we can see the beauty that God wants for us to see. We know a kaleidoscope without light is dim and without reflection. The light is what creates the beauty the impressive bursts of whimsical colors coming together in pattern after pattern. We must remember He does some of His work through us His children. We must be independently obedient to His word and teaching. If we do so and trust in Him along the way, then He will use your situation for His greater good. Often if we trust in Him remain faithful and use our eyes to see Him in others and ears to hear Him in everything. Then I know our kaleidoscope will be beautiful.
Try to help make our kaleidoscope beautiful ~ help to let His Light shine through it. We are born into families where we learn to become an individual. If not born into these families we eventually find ourselves in some seemingly purposeful group of people that formulate what family means. We then understand the natural course of things is to grow into the person God created us to be and we fulfill His Devine plan. We find things confusing at times. When we see an infant struggle to be here. Then once here at times wonder why would they be born only to suffer a life of neglect or abuse? We love to watch the milestones of our lives and those we love as we inch toward our purpose. We wonder why things happen the way they do? We wonder why people must experience life in such perplexing ways? We have all made mistakes and we have all been part of dimming the light now and then. We can also all be a part of fueling the light giving it more energy. If we are a part of the light that allows the light of God into our kaleidoscope then the light will grow. AND NOTHING WILL PUT IT OUT ~ Remember to let your light shine so our kaleidoscope can be beautiful ~
Peace In Your Stages :)
~ Kaleidoscope ~ by Kate Havnevik
What is a kaleidoscope
A kaleidoscope is a circle of mirrors containing loose, colored objects such as beads or pebbles and bits of glass. As the viewer looks into one end, light entering the other end creates a colorful pattern, due to the reflection off the mirrors. Coined in 1817 by Scottish inventor Sir David Brewster, the word "kaleidoscope" is derived from the Ancient Greek καλός (kalos), "beautiful, beauty"
